Health Insights now explain every score

Each readiness, sleep, activity and mental wellbeing score now names its cause, shows what's behind it and says what to do today, for clients and their coach.

Health Insights now explain every score

Each score on your clients' Insights tab now says what's behind it and what to do about it today. You see the same card, in your words, on their profile.

The scores come from the health data your clients connect in the FitFocus app, the same data behind steps, active calories and sleep quality challenges.

A client's readiness card: 63, Fair, 11 below their normal, with the cause and today's advice

Every score, explained

Each card shows today's score with one word for where it sits (Optimal, Good, Fair or Pay attention), then:

  • how it compares with your client's own 30-day normal, and their four-week trend
  • a headline that names the cause, such as "Recent hard sessions haven't cleared yet"
  • one thing to do today. When readiness is low and a session is on their plan, the advice names it: "Keep today's Lower Strength moderate".

Their home screen now leads with today's score in a short version of the card. See why opens the full one.

What's driving it

Under the story, Contributors lists everything behind the score, such as sleep, sleep debt, resting heart rate and HRV, each with its value, goal and state. The ones pulling the score down are marked.

All four scores, and any day

Readiness, sleep, activity and mental wellbeing sit as rings at the top: tap one to open its card. Below them, tap a day in the week to see that day's card as it was, and page back as far as their scores go. Back to today returns.

The same card on your client's profile

Open a client's Insights tab and you'll see the card your client sees, written about them: "11 below Mike's normal". The same week picker lets you check how they were on the day of a hard session.

Clear when something's missing

Instead of an empty chart, the card says what's missing and how to fix it: not connected yet, first scores on the way, or no score today and which data didn't arrive. If a client's phone has sent nothing for a week, the card names the last day data arrived and tells them what to check.

Good to know

  • Scores need your client to connect their health data in the FitFocus app. You can't connect it for them.
  • With a phone and no watch, scores still work. Deep sleep, REM, resting heart rate and HRV need a watch, and those rows say so.
  • The app now asks to read heart rate, resting heart rate and HRV, and needs the client's permission to do so.
  • The week picker replaces the old 4, 8 and 12 week filter.
  • Scores are wellness guidance, not medical advice.
  • Live on the web now. It reaches the iOS and Android apps with their next store update, and so does reading heart rate and HRV.

Get started

  1. Your clients: tap Insights in the app's bottom bar, or See why on the home screen.
  2. You: open a client from Clients and choose the Insights tab.
  3. Tap a ring to switch score, or a day to look back.

Coaches Now Program More Pulling Than Pushing

Monday is still chest day in most gyms. In premium coaching programs it isn't. The row reaches nearly two in three clients, the bench press about one in three, and we think the coaches have it right.
